The People of Property: The Palm Jumeirah

Posted On: 24 06 2019

One of the most important things when considering where to buy or rent a property is the opportunity to get a sense of the environment from people who actually live there. There are so many stunning properties across Dubai, but finding the right one for you can be a challenge. We decided to do an exclusive series that takes a look at the people behind the property. We have sat down with long-term residences of a selection of locations to find out what their experience is of their community and why they choose to make it their home. This week we are interviewing Chris, who has lived on Palm Jumeirah for six years.

Hi Chris, thank you so much for sitting down with us. So, you live on the Palm Jumeirah, what is that like?

Out of this world. I mean it is one of the most iconic locations in the entire world and I am lucky enough to call it home.

What type of property do you live in and who with?

I have a beautiful 4 bedroom villa on one of the fronds that I live in with my wife and our new baby. It is so spacious and modern, with amazing interior design touches and best of all our garden opens out straight onto the beach and breath-taking views of the Atlantis. My wife’s sunset Instagram pictures get so many likes!

So what do you like most about living on the Palm Jumeirah?

There is just such a unique lifestyle that comes with living on the Palm. It is really hard to explain to people who haven’t experienced it, but it feels like the next level of luxury and the best way to have a six-star Dubai lifestyle.

What sort of things do you get up to during the weekend?

Every weekend is different and a lot of the time we don’t even leave the Palm at all. There are so many hotels and activities to try. We have everything from waterparks to fabulous fusion restaurants, spa days to concerts, shopping to sailing and of course plenty of water sports! After my paddle board in the morning and our weekly grocery shop, we will usually meet up with friends at Club Vista Mare or have people over for a pool party. If we need a treat (which is quite a lot with a newborn) we will spend the day at one of the hotels being pampered and relaxing.

What is your favourite thing about living on the Palm Jumeirah?

That is actually quite a hard question to answer as there is so much that we love about living here. Other than the lifestyle, I think it would have to be the way in which the whole area keeps evolving and offering more and more things to do and see. Even now there are new hotels and malls opening, including the new Pointe mall, which is fab. So there is always something to do and experience. From taking a boat to the World Islands for the afternoon to a helicopter tour, heading to our favourite Mexican restaurant in the Aloft to sundowners with a view, we never have to worry about getting bored.

If you had to live anywhere else in Dubai, where would it be?

I bet everyone says this about their own location, but I genuinely wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Plus, our friends and family absolutely love coming to visit and stay with us – they would never forgive us if we moved!
