Signed Dior, numbered 05062950, stamped 750 for 18 carat gold, French assay and maker’s mark, F.Cie with a sword. Spinel mid red, transparent, with typical inclusions visible under magnification. Montblanc: Sir Winston Churchill Limited Edition 53 Fountain Pen, 36/53. Estimate: £20,000 – £25,000

A piece that would make an incredible gift for him. This limited edition was created in 2005 as a tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, ‘this extraordinary statesman, strong-willed man of character and distinguished author.’ The cap is inset with 53 diamonds which is also the limited number of writing instruments created for this series. This is a reference to 1953, the year when Sir Winston Churchill was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his service to Great Britain and was awarded the Nobel Prize ‘for his mastery of historical and biographical description as well as for brilliant oratory in defending exalted human values.’
